Right Thing - Stay!

The dicision to leave is easy; to stay, I need a lot of bravery.

After a seious discussion with my boss, we came up a conclusion that I will stay here. Promotion with effective from March 1, 2007.

From dictionary,

Principal /ˈprɪnsəpəl/ [prin-suh-puhl]

1. first or highest in rank, importance, value, etc.; chief; foremost.
2. a chief or head.
3. a person who takes a leading part in any activity, as a play; chief actor or doer.

Consultant /kənˈsʌltnt/ [kuhn-suhl-tnt]

1. a person who gives professional or expert advice.
2. a person who consults someone or something.

When these two words put together: Principal Consultant - A person who gives professional or expert advice and is first or highest in rank.

The new title make me feel vainglorious.

Do the right thing right?!

When I was in College, I learnt two things:

1. Do the right thing
2. Do the thing right

The first one is to do the correct thing. That means the thing(s) with direction is right. The second is to do a thing (may or may not be directionally right) correctly. I combined these two into a single one: Do the right thing right.

It is very difficult to know if one thing is directionally correct or not. It is even harder to do a thing correctly.

An example: I got an offer from Initial-P Company. The offer seems to be good, salary increment, bigger company platform, etc. However, my current employer really would like me to stay. Their retention offer includes salary increment, title upgrade, etc. My feeling is tend to leave. However, the temptation is on the title upgrade.

Back to the topic, which one is the right thing? Leave or Stay?! Can I do the thing right?

Anniversary - Feb 18, 2007

Yan, I love you.

Yan and I had been in the River of Love for 4 years. Of course I know 4 years is not a short time.

It was very special for the anniversary this year. It is also the first calendar day of the Chinese Calendar.
